Quarterfinals CIF vs. Corona Del Mar @ Home 11-13-10 The boys did a great job reaching this point, unfortunately we ran into a team that was better than us. Corona Del Mar is probably the best team we have played all year long. They were big, strong, fast, etc...... We weren't ready to handle their pressure and it showed. Congratulations to the boys for a great year. Stat Leaders: Aaron Soto (3 goals, 1 steal, 1 drawn ejection), Thomas Appel (1 goal, 1 assist, 2 steals, 1 field block, 2 drawn ejections), Kyle Hamburger (1 goal, 2 assists, 2 steals), Kelley Stevens (1 goal, 3 steals), Josh Ciupek (2 assists, 2 drawn ejections), Joey Moorman (12 saves, 1 steal).
1st Round CIF vs. Vista Murrieta @ Home Thursday 11-11-10 The boys did a great job. This victory put us into the quarterfinals of CIF. The farthest we have gone in Division II. Our offense was consistent scoring 4 goals in every quarter. Defensively we had some lapses, but we got the win and that was all that mattered. Stat Leaders: Thomas Appel (7 goals, 2 assists, 3 steals, 2 field blocks, 1 drawn ejection), Aaron Soto (5 goals, 2 drawn ejections), Taylor Smith (1 goal, 3 assists), Kyle Hamburger (1 goal, 4 assists, 3 steals), Josh Ciupek (1 goal, 2 assists, 1 field block), Joey Moorman (10 saves, 2 steals).
Big VIII League Finals November 4th @ Sanitago vs. Poly 6:30 We put ourselves in the position to win a share of the Big VIII title. This was the first opportunity that we have had to do that. We kept the game close trailing 1-3 at the end of the 1st quarter. We then had some opportunities to start the 2nd quarter that we weren't able to take advantage of. When we missed those opportunities it seemed it deflated the team a bit and Poly made a run halfway through the 2nd quarter that got them the separation they needed to win the game. We placed 2nd in league by ourselves which is the best we have done since entering the Big VIII. We will see what our CIF draw is and go from there. Stat Leaders: Aaron Soto (2 goals, 2 assists, 1 steal, 2 drawn ejections), Kyle Hamburger (2 goals, 1 field block, 2 drawn ejections), Mike Sandoval (1 goal, 1 assist, 1 drawn ejection), Thomas Appel (1 goal, 1 steal), Joey Moorman (13 saves, 2 steals).
Santiago @ Home November 2nd We were a little nervous to start the game and missed some opportunities. We played well defensively though and were tied 2-2 at the end of the 1st quarter. After that we settled into a nice rhythm outscoring Santiago 3-1 in the 2nd and 3-1 in the third taking an 8-4 lead into the 4th quarter. In the 4th quarter the game opened up a little bit and we outscored Santiago 5-2 to win the game 13-6. This was one of our better defensive performances. We were able to frustrate Santiago and then take advantage of our opportunities when we had them on the offensive end. This win puts us in the Big VIII championship game against Poly. We have continued to play better the last 5 games, so we are looking for that trend to continue. Stat Leaders: Thomas Appel (6 goals, 2 assists, 1 steal), Aaron Soto (3 goals, 5 assists, 1 drawn ejection), Taylor Smith (2 goals, 3 assists, 2 steals, 1 drawn ejection), Josh Ciupek (1 goal, 2 steals, 2 drawn ejections), Joey Moorman (15 saves, 2 steals, 1 assist).
King JV and F/S tournament October 29th and 30th Brackets The JV and the F/S teams gained valuable experience over the weekend. They each played 4 games. The JV team lost their first game, but then won the next three placing 3rd in the tournament. The F/S team placed 6th.
October 30th vs. Mira Costa Mira Costa was probably the best team we played all tournament. Another poor defensive first quarter put us in a whole. We gave up 4 goals. Then we played well from there. We had a rally late in the game to pull the game close, but lost 9-11. Hopefully we are able to use the experience from this weekend to do well going into the last week of league. Stat Leaders: Aaron Soto (6 goals, 1 assist, 1 steal, 1 drawn ejection), Thomas Appel (1 goal, 3 drawn ejections), Josh Ciupek (2 goals, 1 assist, 1 steal, 1 drawn ejection), Taylor Smith (2 assists, 2 steals, 1 field block), Joey Moorman (12 saves, 1 steal).
October 30th vs. Poly Offensively we started off well. We had a 3-2 lead half way through the quarter and were playing well. Unfortunately our defense gave up position to their centers and we gave them too many good opportunities from good position late in the quarter. We ended up giving up 6 goals in the first quarter and trailing 3-6 at the end of the first. After that our defense played much better, but we weren't able to get our offense into gear. Hopefully we can find a balance the rest of the season. We ended up losing 10-5. Stat Leaders: Josh Ciupek (4 goals, 1 drawn ejection), Aaron Soto (3 assists, 1 filed block, 1 drawn ejection), Kyle Hamburger (1 goal, 1 assist, 4 steals), Joey Moorman (12 saves, 2 steals). October 29th vs. Santa Margarita We played pretty steady throughout this game. Our offense took awhile to get going. Santa Margarita played a drop, so we had to adjust to that. Once we did we played well. We dropped as well, and without much practice we did a great job only giving up 6 goals to a solid team. We won 10-6. Stat Leaders: Aaron Soto (3 goals, 3 assists, 2 steals, 3 field blocks, 2 drawn ejections), Taylor Smith (1 goal, 1 assist), Kyle Hamburger (1 goal, 1 assist, 1 steal, 3 field blocks), Mike Sandoval (2 goals, 3 steals, 1 field block), Josh Ciupek (3 goals, 1 steal, 1 drawn ejection), Joey Moorman (15 saves, 1 steal).
October 29th Nortwood @ Santa Margarita HS We got off to a bad start against Northwood. We were then able to come back and tie the game at half 5-5. Then we had a bad 3rd quarter getting outscored 4-1. The start of the 4th quarter went our way again scoring 3 goals to tie the game at 9-9. Unfortunately we weren't able to sustain our momentum and lost 9-11. Stat Leaders: Aaron Soto (6 goals, 2 assists, 1 steal, 2 drawn ejections), Kyle Hamburger (1 goal, 2 assists, 4 steals, 1 field block), Josh Ciupek (2 goals, 1 assist, 5 drawn ejections), Joey Moorman (5 saves, 2 steals).
October 28th vs. Corona We beat Corona setting ourselves up for a big league game against Santiago on Tuesday. A bunch of guys that normally don't get a lot of playing time were able to get some minutes against Corona. We won 13-4. Stat Leaders: Taylor Smith (4 assists, 3 steals), Thomas Appel (3 goals, 1 steal, 1 field block), Kyle Smith (2 assists, 2 steals, 1 drawn ejection), Aaron Soto (3 goals, 2 assists), (Kyle Hamburger 2 goals, 1 assist, 1 steal), Mike Sandoval (1 goal), Blake Winant (1 goal, 2 steals), Josh Ciupek (1 goal, 1 assist), Daniel Boebinger (1 goal, 3 steals), Cody Olson (1 goal, 1 steal), Joey Moorman (2 saves, 3 steals), Greg Hughes (2 saves, 2 steals).
The JV team was crazy again trying to get everybody playing time. We were able to get everybody in and win 14-1.
October 25th vs. Mission Viejo's JV This was a JV team. We did what we needed to do winning 18-2. We will play two games on Friday and two games on Saturday.
October 21st @ Home vs. North starting at 5:00 pm We did what we needed to do winning 13-2. I am still looking for more of a killer instinct out of our boys. But we won. So we placed 2nd in league for the first round of competition. Hopefully we can play well the rest of the season and compete for a league championship. Stat Leaders: Taylor Smith (1 goal, 2 assists, 1 drawn ejection), Thomas Appel (4 goals, 1 field block), Aaron Soto (1 goal, 3 assists, 2 steals, 1 drawn ejection), Kyle Hamburger (1 goal, 1 assist), Chris Flanary (1 goal, 1 assist, 1 steal, 1 field block, 1 drawn ejection), Mike Sandoval (1 goal, 2 steals, 1 drawn ejection), Blake Winant (1 goal, 1 steal), Josh Ciupek (3 goals, 3 steals, 2 drawn ejections), Kelley Stevens (1 goal, 1 drawn ejection), Greg Hughes (11 saves, 2 steals, 1 assist). The JV and the F/S teams both won. October 19th @ Roosevelt Roosevelt is a program that is trying to get better. Unfortunately for them it is going to take some time. We were able to beat them 20-4. Stat Leaders: Aaron Soto (3 goals, 5 assists, 1 steal), Taylor Smith (2 goals, 1 steal, 1 field block), Tyler Gardner (4 assists, 3 steals), Kyle Hamburger (1 goal, 1 assist), Chris Flanary (1 goal, 3 assists, 1 steal), Mike Sandoval (1 goal, 1 steal), Blake Winant (2 goals), Josh Ciupek (3 goals, 2 steals), Kelley Stevens (1 goal), Daniel Boebinger (3 goals, 1 assist, 3 steals), Cody Olson (2 goals, 1 assist, 1 steal), Ryan VandeMark (1 goal), Joey Moorman (6 saves, 2 steals, 1 assist), Greg Hughes (1 save, 1 steal). There was only one lower level game and it was tough to get all the players playing time. Unfortunately some of the players did not get in. So the combined JV F/S team won 9-6. Varsity at Murrieta Tourney brackets October 15th and 16th October 16th vs. Redlands East Valley We started off slow again in this game. Fortunately we were able to turn it around and do some good things. We ended the 1st half strong scoring 5 goals in the second quarter taking a 6-5 halftime lead. After giving up a quick two goals in the 3rd quarter we played good defense from there. We only gave up 1 goal the last 12 minutes of the game. We outscored REV 3-1 in the fourth quarter to win 10-8. It was the best defense we played all tournament. We gave up too many exclusions, but we were able to minimize the damage of those. Stat Leaders: Aaron Soto (4 goals, 1 assist, 1 steal, 2 drawn ejections), Josh Ciupek (2 goals, 1 steal, 1 drawn ejection), Thomas Appel (1 goal, 2 assists, 3 steals, 1 drawn ejections), Kyle Hamburger (1 goal, 4 steals), Mike Sandoval (1 goal, 2 assists, 1 steal), Nick Williams (1 goal), Joseph Moorman (13 saves, 3 steals, 2 assists).
October 16th vs. Vista San Diego This game was very similar to the Poly game. Vista is a good team with some talented offensive players. They were able to take advantage of some of our defensive weak spots. We played a horrendous first half. Looking for a silver lining, we did play well in the second half. We didn't quit and we got some good experience in the second half. We only gave up one goal and were able to score 5. We lost 15-9. Stat Leaders: Thomas Appel (2 goals, 1 assist, 4 steals, 1 drawn ejection), Aaron Soto (3 goals, 2 assists, 1 steal, 1 drawn ejection), Kyle Hamburger (1 goal, 1 assist, 3 steals), Josh Ciupek (1 goal, 1 drawn ejection), Daniel Boebinger (2 goals), Joey Moorman (7 saves), Greg Hughes (2 saves). October 16th vs. Palm Desert Another great offensive game. We scored 17 goals against a good team. We still have to figure out some defensive problems though. We won 17-13. Stat Leaders: Taylor Smith (1 goal, 2 assists), Thomas Appel (5 goals, 2 assists, 3 steals, 1 drawn ejection), Aaron Soto (4 goals, 3 assists, 1 steal, 2 drawn ejection), Kyle Hamburger (1 goal, 1 assist, 4 steals), Mike Sandoval (2 goals, 1 assist, 2 drawn ejections), Josh Ciupek (3 goals, 1 assist, 2 drawn ejections), Nick Williams (1 goal, 1 assist, 1 drawn ejection), Cody Olson (1 goal, 2 assists), Joseph Moorman (11 saves, 1 steal, 2 assists).
October 15th vs. Yucaipa Although we didn't play our best, our defense was good and we were able to win 11-1. Stat Leaders: Aaron Soto (4 goals, 1 drawn ejection), Taylor Smith (2 goals,1 assist, 3 steals), Thomas Appel (1 goal, 1 assist, 7 steals, 1 field block, 4 drawn ejections), Kyle Hamburger (1 goal, 3 assists, 2 steals, 2 field blocks), Josh Ciupek (3 goals, 1 assist, 2 steals), Joseph Moorman (7 saves).
October 15th vs. Murrieta Mesa Murrieta Mesa is a brand new school with a new program. We were able to handle them easily beating them 19-2. Stat Leaders: Josh Ciupek (4 goals, 1 assist, 2 steals, 2 drawn ejections), Thomas Appel (3 goals, 2 assists, 3 steals), Aaron Soto (2 goals, 5 assists, 1 steal), Kyle Smith (1 goal, 1 assist, 1 steal, 1 drawn ejection), Chris Flanary (1 goal, 2 assists, 3 steals, 1 field block), Mike Sandoval (2 goals, 1 steal), Nick Williams (3 goals, 1 drawn ejection), Kelley Stevens (1 goal, 3 assists, 1 steal, 1 drawn ejection), Daniel Boebinger (1 goal, 2 assists, 1 drawn ejection), Cody Olson (1 goal, 1 assist, 3 steals, 1 field block, 1 drawn ejection), Joseph Moorman (3 saves, 3 steals, 1 assist), Greg Hughes (2 saves, 1 steal).
October 14th vs. Poly @ Home We played a very good and well coached Poly team. We were not ready for the pace of play and were unable to match Poly's intensity. Offensively we didn't play poorly. We scored 9 goals and drew 11 exclusions. Unfortunately we gave up 16 goals. 6 of those goals came in the first quarter. This put us in a very bad position and we were playing catch up all game long. Hopefully we can take this loss, learn from it, and play better from here on out. Stat Leaders: Aaron Soto (2 goals, 1 assist, 1 steal, 2 drawn ejections), Thomas Appel (2 goals, 1 assist, 1 steal, 3 drawn ejections), Taylor Smith (3 assists, 2 steals, 1 drawn ejection), Kyle Hamburger (2 goals, 1 steal, 2 drawn ejections), Josh Ciupek (2 goals, 4 drawn ejections), Joseph Moorman (9 saves, 1 steal).
The JV team started off slow, but eventually pulled away winning 13-4. The F/S team lost 4-10. October 12 @ Norco We did what we needed to do against Norco to set up a big matchup with Poly on Thursday. We beat Norco 15-2. Stat Leaders: Thomas Appel (4 goals, 4 steals), Taylor Smith (1 assist, 2 steals, 1 drawn ejection), Kyle Smith (1 goal, 1 assist, 4 steals), Aaron Soto (2 goals, 1 assist), Kyle Hamburger (3 assists, 1 drawn ejection), Chris Flanary (1 goal, 1 assist, 1 steal), Mike Sandoval (1 assist, 1 steal), Blake Winant (1 assist, 1 steal), Josh Ciupek (4 goals, 1 drawn ejection), Kelley Stevens (2 goals, 2 assists, 2 steals), Daniel Boebinger (1 goal, 1 assist), Joey Moorman (7 saves), Greg Hughes (6 saves). We only played a one lower level game. So it was interesting trying to get over 30 guys playing time for one game. Everybody at least got some time. We were able to build an early lead and keep it to earn a victory 13-6. JV team in Arlington Varsity Tournament this weekend. Brackets Our JV team played extremely well this weekend. They went 4-0 in the Arlington varsity tournament. It was just round robin format, so there wasn't necessarily a winner, but we were the only undefeated team for the whole tournament. A lot of guys gained some good experience and I hope that it pays off for King by the end of the season.
October 7th @ Corona After the intense game on Tuesday, we came out flat in this one. We struggled to focus and the game was sloppy. Although we scored 19, it was not a well played game and we have to play better in the future. We won 19-7. Stat Leaders: Taylor Smith (1 goal, 1 assist, 1 steal), Thomas Appel (2 goals, 5 assists, 2 steals, 2 drawn ejections), Kyle Smith (2 assists, 1 steal), Aaron Soto (4 goals, 2 assists, 3 steals, 1 drawn ejection), Tyler Gardner (1 goal), Kyle Hamburger (2 goals, 1 assist, 2 steals), Chris Flanary (2 goals, 1 assist, 2 steals), Mike Sandoval (2 goals, 1 assist, 1 steal), Blake Winant (1 goal), Nick Williams (1 goal, 1 assist), Kelley Stevens (1 goal, 1 steal), Daniel Boebinger (1 goal, 1 assist, 2 steals), Cody Olson (2 goals, 1 assist, 2 steals), Joey Moorman (7 saves, 2 steals), Greg Hughes (2 saves, 2 steals). The JV team struggled at first as well, but played better in the second half. They won 14-4. The Frosh/Soph team was clearly a better team and won 20-0. October 5th vs. Santiago at Home This was a great win for the team and the program. This is the first time that we have beaten Santiago in League play. Santiago was the league champion last year, so this is a big step in the right direction. Offensively we played great. We scored 7 goals in the first quarter and had a total of 15 goals for the game. We will win a lot of games putting those kind of numbers up. Unfortunately we gave up 4 goals in the first quarter and 11 goals for the game. We need to tighten up our defense before we play teams that defend us better. Stat Leaders: Aaron Soto (4 goals, 3 assists, 3 steals, 4 drawn ejections), Josh Ciupek (4 goals, 2 assists, 2 drawn ejections), Thomas Appel (3 goals, 3 assists, 3 steals, 1 field block, 1 drawn ejection), Taylor Smith (1 goal), Kyle Hamburger (2 goals, 2 steals), Chris Flanary (1 assist, 3 steals), Mike Sandoval (1 goal, 1 assist, 2 steals), Joey Moorman (12 saves, 1 assist).
The JV team played well winning 14-4. The Frosh/Soph team is still trying to learn some major parts of the game and struggled losing 2-8.
September 30th @ Santiago vs. Centennial Varsity at 6:00pm Centennial is a team that is working hard to get better. We were able to handle them and get off to a good start to the season. We won 17-2. Stat Leaders: Thomas Appel (5 goals, 2 assists, 2 steals, 1 drawn ejection), Aaron Soto (4 goals, 2 assists, 2 steals, 2 drawn ejections), Taylor Smith (2 goals, 1 field block), Tyler Gardner (2 goals), Saleem Omary (1 goal, 1 assist, 2 drawn ejections), Kyle Smith (1 goal, 1 assist, 1 steal), Kyle Hamburger (1 goal, 1 steal, 1 drawn ejection), Mike Sandoval (1 goal, 2 assists, 2 steals), Cody Gilleland (2 assists), Cody Olson (3 assists, 1 steal), Greg Hughes (5 saves, 2 steals).
The JV team started off slow and were not able to finish well in the first half. They did start to do better and won 14-4. Unfortunately the F/S game was cancelled due to lightning strikes. We were leading 4-0 in the middle of the first quarter when the game was called. September 28th Pictures at the Pool Deck at 3:45 September 23rd vs. Palm Desert at Home We were down a couple of players due to injury and illness, so this game was interesting in terms of some different subbing patterns and strategies. We were able to get off to a good start leading 4-0 at the end of the first quarter. From there our offense did fine scoring 10 more goals, but we need to work on our defense because we gave up 9 for a final score of 14-9. This was the last of our non-league games. The only games we will have now will be tournament or league games. Stat Leaders: Kyle Hamburger (3 goals, 4 assists, 2 steals, 1 drawn ejection), Thomas Appel (3 goals, 1 assist, 2 steals, 1 drawn ejection), Mike Sandoval (1 goal, 2 assists, 1 steal), Taylor Smith (1 goal, 2 steals), Josh Ciupek (3 goals, 1 assist, 1 steal), Daniel Boebinger (1 assist, 2 steals), Cody Olson (1 goal, 2 assists, 1 drawn ejection), Joey Moorman (18 saves, 1 steal, 2 assists).
The JV team did well winning 14-1 and the F/S team also won.
September 21st vs. Great Oak at Home We got off to a slightly slow start giving up the first goal and only having a 3-1 lead at the end of the first. We played a good 2nd quarter though and led 8-1 at halftime. We ended up winning the game 17-5. As a whole the 17-5 victory is good. We could have played a little cleaner though. Stat leaders: Aaron Soto (5 goals, 2 assists, 3 steals, 2 drawn ejections), Taylor Smith (2 goals, 2 assists, 3 steals, 2 drawn ejections), Thomas Appel (3 goals, 3 assists, 5 steals, 2 drawn ejections), Kyle Hamburger (1 goal, 2 assists, 2 steals), Mike Sandoval (2 goals), Josh Ciupek (4 goals, 1 assist, 1 steal, 1 drawn ejection), Joseph Moorman (22 saves, 4 steals, 1 assist).
The JV team won a close game 7-5. Unfortunately the F/S and the novice teams did not play as well as we would have liked, and we lost both of those games. Pancake Breakfast Sunday September 19th September 16th-18th Riverside Poly Tournament As a whole the team played well and placed 10th, the best finish we have ever had in the Poly tournament. Our JV team also played well winning 4 of their 5 games against varsity teams.
September 18th vs. Montebello We had some good moments during this game, as well as some bad. This is probably the 2nd best team we have played this year. We had a 5-3 halftime lead. Extended that to 6-3 in the 3rd quarter. From there we lost some momentum and the scored was tied at 6-6, and we were trailing to start the 4th quarter 7-8. We were able to rally and take a 10-8 lead, but were unable to hold on. We eventually lost 10-11. We seemed tired and not as motivated as the previous two games. We have to play more consistent against teams of this caliber or we will end up losing these close games. Stat Leaders: Taylor Smith (3 goals, 1 steal), Thomas Appel (2 goals, 1 assist, 1 steal, 1 field block, 1 drawn ejection), Aaron Soto (1 goal, 2 assists, 3 steals, 2 field blocks), Kyle Hamburger (1 goal, 2 steals), Chris Flanary (1 goal, 1 assist, 1 field block), Mike Sandoval (2 assists), Josh Ciupek (2 goals, 1 assist, 2 drawn ejections), Joey Moorman (14 saves, 1 assist).
September 18th vs. Troy Second good game in a row. We again were the aggressors and we were able to benefit from it. Troy is not a bad team, but I think we took them out of their game and made them quit. We jumped out early with a 6-1 lead at the end of the first. We never slowed down winning the game 15-5. Stat Leaders: Taylor Smith (1 goal, 2 assists, 2 steals, 2 drawn ejections), Thomas Appel (3 goals, 3 assists, 5 steals, 1 field block), Aaron Soto (5 goals, 4 assists, 4 steals, 1 drawn ejection), Kyle Hamburger (1 goal, 1 assist, 3 steals, 1 drawn ejection), Chris Flanary (1 goal, 1 assist, 3 steals), Josh Ciupek (3 goals, 1 drawn ejection), Daniel Boebinger (1 goal, 1 steal), Joey Moorman (11 saves, 3 steals, 1 assist).

September 16th vs. Agoura Agoura is a good team and we were coming off of a short break from the game before. We started off poorly. We were down 0-4 at the end of the first quarter. We were able to pull back into the game 2-5 with 3 minutes to play in the half, but gave up 3 quick scores to be down 2-8 at halftime. I think the guys learned a lot from this game and hopefully that will benefit us in the future. We eventually lost 6-13. Stat Leaders: Thomas Appel (2 goals, 1 assist, 1 steal, 2 drawn ejections), Aaron Soto (1 goal, 1 assist, 1 steal, 1 drawn ejection), Kyle Hamburger (1 goal,
September 16th vs. El Segundo The boys did well in winning our first round game of the Poly Tournament. This will place us in the top sixteen of the tournament. We started off well, had a lull for a while and then finished the game well winning 13-9. Stat Leaders: Taylor Smith (2 goals, 1 assist, 2 steals), Thomas Appel (3 goals, 2 assists, 1 steal, 2 drawn ejections), Aaron Soto (2 goals, 4 assists, 2 steals, 2 drawn ejections), Kyle Hamburger (2 goals, 2 assists, 3 steals, 1 field block), Josh Ciupek (4 goals, 1 steal, 1 drawn ejection), Joseph Moorman (10 saves, 1 steal).
September 13th game @ Vista Murrieta High School After struggling through three quarters and being tied 5-5, the varsity team played a great defensive fourth quarter while scoring three goals to win 8-5. Hopefully this experience will benefit the team later on this season. Stat Leaders: Josh Ciupek (3 goals, 4 drawn ejections), Taylor Smith (1 goal, 1 assist, 3 steals), Thomas Appel (1 goal, 4 steals, 1 field block), Aaron Soto (1 goal, 4 assists, 3 steals), Kyle Hamburger (1 goal, 1 assist), Mike Sandoval (1 goal, 1 assist), Joseph Moorman (17 saves)
The JV and F/S teams both gained some valuable experience, but happened to lose by one. We found some things that we need to work on and we will be doing so.
September 10th and 11th Great Oak Frosh/Soph tournament The sophomore team did extremely well and placed 2nd in the tournament. The freshman also did well gaining some valuable experience.
September 9th First game @ home vs. Temescal Canyon We started off our 2010 campaign with a solid victory at home against Temescal Canyon. We were a little nervous to start the game, but settled down and really played well from mid way through the 1st quarter to halftime taking a 9-3 lead. From there we relaxed a little bit and eventually won the game 14-7. Stat Leaders: Thomas Appel (4 goals, 2 assists, 4 steals, 1 drawn ejection), Taylor Smith (3 goals, 5 steals), Aaron Soto (1 goal, 3 assists, 1 steal), Kyle Hamburger (2 goals, 2 assists, 1 drawn ejection), Josh Ciupek (3 goals, 1 assist), Cody Olson (1 goal, 1 assist, 1 steal, 1 drawn ejection), Joseph Moorman (14 saves, 3 steals, 2 assists).
The JV team played well and won 11-3. The F/S team struggled early but were able to pull out a 8-6 victory.
September 7th Scrimmage @ Temecula Valley Everybody on the team was able to get a lot of playing time against Temecula Valley. We found some things that we need to work on, and we noticed some things that we are doing well.
