Girls Open Season With Sweep Over Canyon Springs
During the third period both teams scored two apiece with Abby scoring for the Wolves. The flood gates opened during the fourth quarter. No, it didn't rain, but King outscored Canyon Springs five to one on two goals by Christin Boebinger, and one apiece by Katie Johnson, Cassie Luna, and Stephanie Glendenning. The final score was 12-6. For stats click HERE The JV played their first game and came away with a 12-2 win. Dayna Van Gorder scored one and Erica Nelson opened up the game with two goals during the first period as the Wolves ended the period with a 3-0 lead. The second period saw King score three more goals, while the Cougars got their first making the score 6-1. The third quarter witnessed the Wolves continue the barrage, scoring four unanswered goals. The period ended with the score 10-1. During the final period King tallied another two while allowing only one goal from Canyon Springs. While the book is a bit murky about the timing of the goals, rookie Meghan Richli scored five, Erica Nelson had four, Emily Neumann added two, and Dayna Van Gorder delivered one goal.
