12/21/01It's About RespectThe Wolves knew going in that North had the better team. The object was to earn respect. Respect from other teams and respect for themselves. They were successful. J.W. North has one of the top ranked teams in the division with one of the best goalies in high school. The Wolves played a great game. Staying with the Huskies during every quarter. The game started out tough. The Wolves were unable to penetrate the defense, while North found the back of the net four times. But the Wolves played some great defense, making the Huskies earn every goal. During the second quarter, King again held North to four goals while Cassie Luna scored for the Wolves. The third period saw Stephanie Glendenning earn a 4-meter foul that Abby York put away for the Wolves second goal. Katie Johnson learned how to work a goalie, scoring a goal on a well setup and executed lob shot. King played a much better defensive quarter during the last period, limiting the Huskies to three goals. Abby York scored out of 2m, while Stephanie put the ball into the Husky net. The entire game, Lindsay Nichols faced great shooting by the North team and made some incredible blocks for King. The final score was 16-5 bringing King's record to 3-5.
