Everyone Plays At Ramona,
Playoff Game At Murrieta Valley

Both King and Murrieta Valley had identical league records and are tied for third place going into Thursday's final game. MVHS beat Perris, while King beat Ramona 20-3 to lead the two team to meet Friday at 3:15 at Murrieta Valley High School.

At Ramona, Abby York lead the scoring with five, followed by Dayna Van Gorder, Cassie Luna, Leslie Miskulin, and Stephanie Glendenning each with two. Katie Johnson, Becca Lisonbee, Emily Neumann, Christin Boebinger, Erica Nelson, Sami Chalfy and JV player Meghan Richli all scored one. Lindsay Nichols was saved two of the three shots that the team allowed, while JV goalie Tiffany Couch saved five of the seven shots she faced. By the middle of the second quarter, King had pulled it's starters, by the end of the third, the varsity subs were back on the bench with the JV team playing in their first varsity game. Because both teams won, they will play a playoff game Friday at Murrieta Valley to determine who goes to CIF. Game time is 3:15. There will be no JV game. Click here for STATS

KJ ready to sprint.JPG (51094 bytes)Shot on goal.JPG (62295 bytes)The clock may say five minutes to go, but the game is over, the score is King 15, Ramona 0 and Lindsay Nichols has earned the first shutout in the history of girls' water polo at King High School. With a very strong man-to-man defense in front of her, Lindsay played strong in the goal to get her first shutout. While Lindsay was defending the goal, the offense took care of the win. Ten different players scored during the game. The starting varsity gave the Wolves a three goal lead after the first quarter that saw Cassie Luna score her two goals and Stephanie Glendenning get one of her three. The offense kicked into high gear during the second period.

King slowed the pace during the third period with Sami and Dayna each scoring one goal a piece to make the score 13-0 at the start of the fourth quarter.
