Swim Banquet Monday May 16th

CIF Prelims Wednesday May 13th starting at 12:00 pm

This year we moved up to Division I, and this happens to be the fastest year for times ever for the CIF southern section.  Given these two factors we didn't have many CIF qualifiers.  The good news is we did qualify two relay teams.  Our boys 200 Freestyle and 400 Freestyle relays both qualified.  This is an amazing accomplishment given the high standards that were required to get in.  Congratulations to Seva Eagle, Thomas Appel, Nigel Item, Kelley Stevens, and Jeff Watson.  They have had a great year so far, hopefully they can continue their great swims.

League Finals May 5th at Corona High School @ 3:15 pm

It was a very exciting meet.  On the boys side we had 3 school records broken and they placed third overall, which is the best they have ever done in the Big VIII (7th the last two years).  1 school record was broken on the girls side, and the girls had some great swims as well.  Unfortunately they placed 4th for League finals, but as individuals we swam well and it was a good ending to an exciting season.

League Prelims May 3rd at Corona High School

We placed a lot of swimmers in the top 16 and the top 8 for the league finals meet on Thursday.  Many of our swimmers swam their personal best times.  Hopefully they can do that again on Thursday.

Meet @ North April 27th starting at 4:00 pm

We had a strong meet against North High School.  We had some people swim their personal best times and some relays swim the fastest they have swam all year.  Unfortunately the varsity boys team came up a little short.  All of the other teams and levels were able to pull out victories.  Going into league finals next week is very interesting.  Varsity boys are tied for 2nd with North and Poly.  So they could finish 2nd, 3rd or 4th in league, depending on the outcome of league finals.  The girls are 2nd place heading into league, but with three teams close on their heels.    Corona, Poly and Centennial were all very competitive.  To stay as 2nd place in league the girls are going to have to swim some of their best times.

Meet @ Roosevelt April 20th starting at 3:15 pm

We had another strong meet against Roosevelt.  The varsity boys won improving their league record to 5-1.  The varsity girls also won improving to 4-1-1.  The JV boys also won.  Unfortunately the jv girls lost by a small margin.  We have one more league meet left against North.  Then we will have league prelims and finals after that.  Hopefully we will have our lineups the way we want them and be able to finish strong.

Meet @ Home vs. Centennial April 13th starting at 3:15 pm

This was another close meet for the girls.  They were able to pull out the victory by 3 points.  The league finals meet will be very interesting.  Poly, Corona, Centennial and King are all very close on the girls side.  Our girls need to keep on working hard and have good swims at league finals to try and beat these teams.  The boys team had another big win over a league opponent that they lost to last year.  This makes 4 teams that the boys lost to last year that they have beaten this year.  Norco, Poly, Corona and Centennial.  Hopefully they can keep this momentum up.  They have two more meets to go before league Prelims and Finals.  Both the JV boys and girls won as well.

Meet @ Perris March 31st starting at 3:15pm

Perris was a non league meet.  It was low stress where we were able to swim some of our swimmers in events that they don't usually swim.  We won all levels and improved our records.  Spring break is next week.  We will have three practices Wed, Thu and Fri 7:00-9:00 am.

Meet @ Home vs. Corona March 30th starting at 3:15 pm

We had another good meet against Corona.  The girls had an early lead, then fell behind, then outscored Corona 10-4 in the last event to tie the meet.  All the other teams won.  We are competing again in back to back meets against Perris.

Meet @ Home vs. Poly March 23rd starting at 3:15 pm

We had some very good swims against Poly.  Both varsity teams were able to beat Poly for the first time ever.  Both wins were total team efforts.  We took some first places that really helped us, but our depth taking 4th and 5th place instead of 6th place was instrumental in us winning.  The JV boys team won as well.

Meet @ Santiago March 16th

Santiago is a very good swim team.  They have been league champs the past couple of years, and it showed.  The good thing about swimming against a strong team, is that we normally have some good competition and get some good swims.  We had some swimmers drop time and improve so that was a good thing.  Hopefully we learned some things about ourselves and can use that to move forward.

Meet @ Home vs. Norco March 9th Starts at 4:00

We got our league season off on the right foot.  All levels were victorious over Norco.  This is an improvement over last year.  Both  varsity teams have some new comers that are contributing and our depth at both varsity levels seems to have improved.  Hopefully this bodes well for the rest of the season.

Meet @ Elsinore March 8th

All levels were able to win against Elsinore.  This was a good early meet for us to get some times on people.  We have a tough league meet tomorrow so hopefully we can fine tune some things and win that one as well.

Woodcrest Christian Pentathalon Saturday March 5th

We had a good showing at the meet on Saturday.  Both boys and girls teams won.  It was a good meet to gain some confidence.  We have one nonleague meet against Elsinore on Tuesday and then we start League meets already against Norco the next day.

Swim season has started.  We have a lot of swimmers out and we are trying to figure out what will be best for the team.  With the amount of new swimmers on the team we will be trying different people at different events.  League meets are coming up quickly so we have to figure out what are best line ups will be for those meets.
